Hello, I’m Betty. You might’ve known me by another name once—but these days, I go by the one that feels most like home. I grew up in Whately, Massachusetts, and now live with my family in Enfield, Connecticut. These two places, both rich in history and deeply personal meaning, are where I offer the kind of care I’d want for my own loved ones.
That care is what A Grave Detail is all about.
I tend to graves—not just with tools, but with intention.
I clean headstones using safe, proven methods.
I trim back overgrowth.
I place flowers, level sunken markers, and document inscriptions so they can be read and remembered.
I visit with respect, and I show up when others can’t.
Because I know that sometimes, love has to take the form of a proxy. Maybe you live far away. Maybe you’re not physically able to make the trip. Maybe it’s simply been a while, and the thought of going back feels too heavy. I get it. And you don’t have to explain.
That’s why I’m here.
A well-tended grave is more than appearance—it’s a gesture. A way of saying, You still matter. You are not forgotten. When you hire me, you’re not just crossing a task off your list. You’re keeping a promise.
Whether you're in Whately or Enfield, or somewhere further afield, my mission is the same: To preserve not just headstones, but the stories they hold. To tend not just plots, but the legacies rooted there. To offer peace of mind—for the ones left behind.
If that resonates with you, you’re in the right place. Let’s honor them—together.
